Why am I doing this?

Time is ticking. I am no spring chicken. And I believe I have so much to offer. I have a general sense of what some of my gifts are and how I might use them. Yet, I feel like there is so much more out there, just waiting for me to discover about myself that is going to allow me to give back to this world that is seemingly spiraling out of control.

Mood follows action – Rich Roll

So I am trying to being more intentional on this journey that I am on. Like the quote above from one of my favorite podcasters, I am coming to the conclusion that we must be action-oriented in our lives. We must believe we have agency to then be able to move towards richer and more meaningful lives. Our attitudes, outlook on life, feelings, and emotions can all be influenced by what we do (or not quite frankly). By the way, if you haven’t checked out Rich’s podcast, I highly encourage you to do so.

I am starting this personal website to try to unlock creativity, put my thoughts, ideas, maybe even some projects out into the world. This website is my canvas and forum to experiment, try new things, develop new skills, learn, adapt, and hopefully give back to others.

I hope it opens my mind to new possibilities. I hope it allows me to create new and deeper connections with others. I hope it puts me into new situations that are out of my comfort zone and I grow from the experience. I hope it allows me to live a more intentional life. In short, I hope……for what is out there waiting for me; to be surprised at what life could be.

So what I am going to do? Blog posts on a wide range of topics: spirituality, God and the divine; food, wine, and gardening; fear; things I am struggling with; technology probably oriented to non-profit tech; and who knows what else. I might try videos too…..cringe. The fact that I do cringe at the thought of posting videos I should probably do that very soon and get over myself and my insecurities.
